“ For this action, which continues my questioning of ‘the jump.’ I wished to evoke Icarus. Rather than gluing feathers in order to make myself wings, I thought that the shadow of the feathers on my back alone would do the job.
​
This performance produced videos, a series of photos and a type of work on paper, then I exposed the drawing to the technique that I call ‘solar distillation,’ where using heat from the sun to draw here takes on its full meaning; is it not the sun that melted the wax of Icarus' wings, producing his fall ? ”(Akira Inumaru)
